The oldest child welfare agency in the country (founded in 1799), The Home for Little Wanderers moved to this site in 1914 and has continually offered services to children in need.
The building, called the Knight's Children Center, houses a private special education school for children ages 5 to 12 who need specialized services due to their educational and mental health special needs. There is a residential facility for those children who need a level of care that does not allow them to safely live in a family setting.
This campus includes the Adoption and Foster Care programs - which are the oldest services offered by The Home.
