In addition to a wide variety of fish and seafood, purchased daily, The Fishmonger is known for its creative, freshly prepared take-out items. The extensive line of carry-out cuisine includes over 15 soups & chowders; seafood salads; sauces & spreads; fish cakes & burgers; and special dishes for lunch and dinner. All take-out food is conveniently packaged for re-heating at home, usually in single portions but most special dishes can be ordered in larger sizes for dinner parties.
The variety of fresh fish will vary from day to day, depending on availability, but is always the highest quality. In addition to the more common fish, such as cod, haddock, bluefish, sword and tuna, The ‘monger also carries seasonal specialties, like shad roe, live soft shell crabs, fresh Maine shrimp and Nantucket bay scallops. A friendly and a knowledgeable staff is available to assist you with your selection of fish, and provide instructions for preparation, to make your meals at home simple and enjoyable. Call for daily specials.

Burke's Seafood is a family owned and operated Mom & Pop Seafood shop patronized by numerous North Quincy locals that has been open in the neighborhood for 30 years without changing hands. Owners Dick & Margaret Burke run the operation and greet their customers by name. Dick buys whole, fresh fish daily and fillets the catch by hand for retail sale in their fishmonger capacity. They have salmon, tuna, haddock, scallops, and loads of fresh, live lobsters.
Margaret oversees the kitchen, where they serve cooked seafood dishes, including New England favorites like steamed lobster and their hand made stuffed quahogs. They also make their own delicious clam chowder, and serve a host of fried seafood offerings, from clams to scallops to fish & chips. Family combo platters combining their various offerings are also available, as is their Lobster Boil in a Can.
As of spring 2009, Burke's is set to increase its seating capacity substantially as it takes over a vacant space next door. This will allow for up to 19 diners to eat inside the establishment. During seasonable weather, they also offer some outdoor seating. Forthcoming promotions for this expansion and their 30th anniversary in business will be announced soon.

This small seafood shack is tucked back off the road on Putnam St, just past Western Ave. A couple of lobster tanks, iced beds with fish, drink coolers and picnic tables pretty much paints the whole picture. As the name suggests, the lobster are alive and kicking.
Don’t ask for a lobster roll here. You’ll get an earful from the lively counter help about how lobster meat deserves better than a hot dog bun. Instead, ask for the lobster sandwich, a specialty of this hidden neighborhood lobster pound in Cambridge. The place bucks tradition by serving the classic lobster salad on toasted and buttered scali bread—an airy, artisanal Italian loaf popular in Boston. Albeit a bit heretical, the scali adds a welcome (and frankly addictive) crunch, making you forget all about the usual split-top vessel.

Devlin's calls itself, "A little bit of downtown, uptown," and it definitely brings downtown style, atmosphere and culinary excellence to Brighton Center. Appropriate for business, social or family dining, its cuisine mixes traditional and innovative American fare with a touch of international flavor and an expansive wine list. They offer both a seasonal menu and year-round upscale comfort food (including their exceptional thin-crust pizza). Critics rave about the lush setting and the delicious homemade desserts, but after the meal is when this restaurant really heats up: the tables are cleared away and the dance floor opens for dancing to music provided by live DJs. The patio at Devlin's fills up fast each night (open May-Oct), so get there early if you want outdoor seating. The patio is also the perfect spot for hosting your next function - Devlin's experienced and professional staff will make it a surefire success. Devlin's also offers full catering services for off-site events, individually tailored to your party's needs.

Looking for a top-notch local eatery with free delivery? Located in the heart of Woburn Center near the 134 MBTA bus, Liberty Bell Restaurant serves up an array of tasty meals at a reasonable price--ranging from their seafood dinners that includes everything from fried clams and chowder to their famous roast beef sandwich. A Boston-area staple since 1976, Liberty Bell Restaurant's menu is a notch above the typical neighborhood hot spot.
Not in the mood for roast beef? No problem. Liberty Bell offers chicken kabobs, steak tips and pasta dinners like their chicken, ziti and broccoli and tortellini alfredo with cheese. They also have several wrap options including their Avalanche and Liberty Bell special. For those looking for a healthier alternative, salad offerings include Syrian bread.

As comically old-school as it may be, Locke-Ober invariably delivers on its biggest promise: a wildly decadent, scotch-and-cigar-laden immersion in all things traditionally New England—and Harvard, of course. This restaurant's ancient leather chairs, pheasant prints, sprawling chandeliers, and heavy panelled walls once watched only the wealthiest of men. Now, as our waiter lamented, the dining room is open to ladies, though “it is not designed for it.” The spookily stiff waiters invisibly deliver dishes from a menu leaning heavily toward expensive meats and seafood, from appetizers such as the divine Jonah crab cakes ($14) all the way through the entrees (tasty, fatty sirloin; $36) and sickeningly rich and delicious desserts. For the pyromaniacs among us, ample opportunities exist to have various dishes flambéed (read: lit on fire) tableside. For good reason, the Hasty Pudding Theatricals still bring their Man of the Year here annually.
For a bit of Boston history in your belly, order a "Ward 8."

This is your traditional fishmonger, family run and very knowledgable about fish. You can get sushi-grade tuna in 3 tiers of quality, as well as other fish. They always have a good variety, and you never know what's new coming in. Just ask about specials. The fish is very fresh, if you look at the fish in the window you will see that the eyes are plump and intact. That's how you can tell an old fish, the eyes will be sunken in and rotting away. High quality seafood, a little pricey, but oh so worth it!!!

1 Straight Wharf, Nantucket, MA
 • (508) 228-8886
The Ropewalk is a Nantucket classic. Perched directly on the end of the Straight Wharf, the Ropewalk greets the Hyline Ferry passengers immediately upon disembarking onto the island. Sailors easily pull up outside, dock their boats and can jump into the Back Bar for a cocktail. The Ropewalk is replete with 2 bars, one in the front of the house and a larger in the back of the house where the happy hour is enjoyed by everyone from Nantucket natives to local fisherman to the fancy weekend and vacation crowd. Serving mostly seafood, the fare at the Ropewalk is straightforward and without pretense. Known for their honey and ginger calamari and New England clam chowder, come hungry or thirsty, the Ropewalk is not a placed to be missed while on island.
